Business Wellness is a series of networking and learning events created to nurture meaningful connections for women entrepreneurs and remote workers in Sitges (Barcelona), Spain. Uniting local and international talent from two communities that compliment each other beautifully — FERN (female entrepreneurs resource network) & El Living Wellness — Business Wellness is a testament to the power of collaboration, and the belief that our physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing have a direct impact on our success.
The idea for FERN first sprouted in 2017 as I began thinking about launching my own company from home. I was a foreigner here with two small children, a partner who traveled, and nearly two decades of professional experience behind me. What I lacked in a more traditional work setting was the flexibility I needed, and the ability to control how I would spend my energy and time. I longed to meet others like me, and soon discovered that Sitges was full of talented women in a similar situation.
Some of us were reinventing ourselves after moving abroad or starting a family. Some of us were here for the laid-back Sitges lifestyle while still balancing a demanding career remotely. Some were newcomers, looking to meet friends and make new business connections. Regardless of our situation, we all sought the empowerment, resources, and support a community of like-minded women would provide.
Fast-forward 3 years, when an isolating pandemic took us even more remote, and staying connected would become more critical than ever.
To date, FERN has hosted over 60 events for more than 600 enterprising women in Sitges/Barcelona. We offer promotion and exposure to local talent through curated workshops, storytelling and networking events, retreats, mentoring, and the occasional cultural program, while providing a nurturing space for visibility, support, skill-sharing, personal and professional development, connection and collaboration.
Like a match made in heaven, we are proud to team up with El Living Wellness to offer events at the gorgeous Sabàtic Sitges Hotel, adding a touch of luxury, design and inspiration to our gatherings! Before delving into our workshops and networking sessions, members now have the opportunity to take a morning for themselves and start the day with an invigorating yoga class and healthy brunch.
